Visit to Utah

Caleb and I flew in to SLC a few hours before my parents did. Uncle Derek picked us up from the airport and got to meet Caleb for the first time.

Caleb and Uncle Derek had lots of fun playing together but Derek has the best pictures on his phone.

Caleb was asleep by the time Grammy and Grandpa got home, but woke up to say hi and play for a couple of hours. Grandpa got to hold Caleb for the first time.

Caleb and I woke up at least two hours before everyone else most mornings so we played and then when Grammy and Grandpa woke up, I went back to sleep. It was great!

Aunt Lizzi came up and spent the weekend with us. She and I went to The Hunger Games while the grandparents babysat. Thanks!

Sunday we went to the Holladay ward and loved seeing everyone there! It still feels like we "go home" every time we go back to church there. That night we went to Grandma Abbott's house and saw lots of cousins.

The week was full of playing with Grammy and Grandpa when they didn't have meetings and luncheons to attend. One night while the family went to see Hunger Games, Caleb and I went to visit the Adams grandparents.We drove to Provo a few times to visit Derek, Amy, Jeremy and Lizzi. We went to the luau that Amy was in; Caleb and I missed her dancing because he was tired and kept crying. But I ran into some friends (Whitney and Kendra) in the mothers' room in the Wilkinson Center and ended up talking to them throughout the rest of the show. We helped plan Derek and Amy's wedding competition video. We went out to eat. I played soccer once and didn't completely stink... my sprints were much slower than they have ever been but it was fun. I was sore for a couple of days after too.  ... I can't remember what else. Oh yeah, Caleb got two teeth!

Allen flew in the following Wednesday night. Thursday we went to temple square with Grammy and visited Grandpa. We wandered around City Creek during his break and he wouldn't let anyone else hold Caleb the whole time. :) All of the pictures from that are on my mom's camera, but the picture below is what it looked like, just with my dad in a suit.

Conference weekend (while my family spent most of their time at the conference center) we went to the Adams' house so they could see their son and grandson too.

 We went back up to Holladay on Sunday night to see all of the family that got together for the post-conference party. I'm kicking myself for not taking more pictures but here is what I do have.

 Monday (Allen's 28th birthday!) I got LASIK, my dad spoke at a conference at BYU and Allen flew back to Houston. My parents and Ben left Wednesday morning. :(

 Aunt Lizzi left Wednesday morning too. And then we left to go down to stay at the Adams' home again.

Again, I did not get nearly enough pictures but I did get some.

We went out to eat with Danielle and Whitney. We went to visit the Worthens. We went to the Dance Training room to visit Ron. We visited Grandma at school.

Aunt Lizzi came to visit us at the Adams' house a few times.

 There was a "fire drill" while we were visiting Grandma. After standing in the cold behind the school for a few minutes I decided to take Caleb home. Rather than walk around the school, we went through the school... and I smelled smoke and though, "This probably isn't a fire drill." When I got out the front, there were two fire trucks and an ambulance. Turns out there was a smoldering something in the ceiling.

Grandma teaches music so we got to do the Bunny Hop with the kids.

Utah got cold while we were there so Caleb got to wear his warm snow outfit... I can't put my arms down!

We met Lizzi at the Cougareat with Caleb dressed up as Cosmo. Everyone loved it!

 We watched Derek and Jeremy's soccer team win 13-1 (or something like that) on Saturday.

Easter Sunday we went to church with Grandma and Grandpa Adams. Their choir sounded great! Caleb and I only made it through part of nursery with them... Caleb didn't even last long enough for the Easter egg hunt or snacks!

Monday morning I had my one week post-op LASIK appointment and the doctor said I was doing great! I LOVE LASIK! I can see the alarm clock by the bed without bringing it up to my face! I can see Caleb from the doorway in his room. After the appointment Derek drove us up to the airport and we came home.

It was good to get home. It was great to see our families, it was great to get lasik, but it was a long time to be away from home and Allen. It felt even longer because Caleb woke up every 45 minutes all night almost the entire two weeks we were there so I was exhausted by the time we got back. Now we're back home he is getting back to normal... more about that later!
