May 27-June 2 Memorial Day and Skeeters

May 27-June 2, 2013
Monday was Memorial Day so Allen was home. We had Allen's carpool friends over for a barbecue. We had the kids picnic on a blanket in the living room and Caleb walked around picking up food off of everyone else's plates. He was asleep when they all arrived but warmed up to the kids and had fun playing with them, even though he doesn't always share very well.

After the barbecue we went swimming for the first time this season. We tried out the life jacket on Caleb... Not as good of an idea as we thought. He bobbed up and tipped over! He loved the water and was not afraid of diving in, unfortunately he has no fear of drowning either so I kept having to yank him back up out of the water every time he would run and jump and go under. He would come up coughing and laughing and loved every second of it. He was very sad to leave.
The life jacket stayed on for approximately 1 minute.
Fearless boy!
Tuesday and Wednesday... a blur... we probably went to the park and played at home since that's what we do every day.
Thursday night I went to a goodbye get-together for Jill at Cheesecake Factory. It was fun but I'm going to miss her!

Earlier that day we went to the mall (I've been trying to find cooler places to play so Leila doesn't get overheated or sunburned). Caleb refused to play in the play area so I thought we could walk the mall and just people watch. Leila started crying so I held her as I pushed the stroller but then Caleb wanted out too.

As we watched the carousel go around in the food court, Caleb got so excited. I let him ride but had to buy a token first. While I was doing that, he ran over to a table with a man sitting by himself and climbed up on the chair across from him and tried to grab his drink. This happened twice before we rode the carousel, to two different people.

He was not sure about the carousel once he was strapped to it but liked it when it got going. Bought a sonic lemon berry slush as bribery to get back in the stroller and leave.

Friday we went to Waterway Square in the afternoon to feed fish and splash in the fountains. Poor Leila was sooo hot!
Caleb just wanted to nicely hold her hand while watching Despicable Me.
Precious!

Sleeping on Mom

Check out her neck strength. She loves to look at the quilt Grammy made for her.

Saturday we cleaned the church, hung out at home, I went swim suit shopping, and then we went to the Skeeters baseball game. Our tickets were through Allen's work and we were up in a suite with food and Allen's colleagues and clients. Caleb absolutely LOVED it! We didn't even make it over to the playground and splash pad in the outfield. He clapped when everyone else did. Loved standing on a seat by himself. Loved that he got his own can of Sprite. Loved attention from everyone. We got some cute pictures and video on Allen's phone.
Caleb and Leila's first baseball game... Sugarland Skeeters
Sunday Caleb liked nursery and didn't cry! Hallelujah!

Getting ready to play head, shoulders, knees and toes.
Only slightly posed :) but a nice nap before church.
