Good morning cutie!
Leila with me at the doctor.
Wednesday Leila had to have a renal ultrasound to make sure her kidneys are properly formed.
Thursday was Caleb's birthday! He learned the word birthday and proudly answered that he is two. The night before his birthday, we set up a tent in our playroom for Dad and him to sleep in. We set it up almost an hour before bedtime and once he was in there, we could get him out! He jumped up and down, saying "birthday!" When we brought his pillows and blanket in and he realized he got to sleep in there, he laid down, so excited and asked mom and dad go bye-bye! There was no way he was coming out for a bath or to brush his teeth. I told him Dad was going to sleep with him and he got even more excited and then invited me to sleep in there too.
As Caleb and Dad started to read bedtime books, I made blue Gatorade (his favorite drink) and popcorn, brought it up to them and joined them to read. I wish I had on video the pure joy and excitement when I came through the tent door with the treat. He slept well and even slept in until 6:45!
Allen took the day off (yay!) and after breakfast we started opening presents. If last night wasn't awesome enough, he got all sorts of Thomas the Tank engine paraphernalia from Grammy and Grandpa Perkins. He had been carrying the unopened presents around for a few days, admiring the trains on the wrapping paper. He was horrified when I started ripping it! Once he saw what was inside, he became less hesitant about opening but still didn't like the ripping and had me do it.
All of this fun and goodness, Caleb was so happy! We went to Chuck E Cheese's and he loved it! He got his own drink.

I didn't make a cake or anything, so we just put candles in a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (known in our family as Daddy's Favorite).
I don't know who liked Chuck E Cheese's better, Allen or Caleb. :)

A Halloween costume for Leila came in Caleb's birthday package from Grammy too.

We also updated the pediatrician about Leila's diagnosis and told her we stopped NG feeding Leila September 29th. Since then, we learned that 22q kids are smaller in height and weight than "normal" kids and have their own growth charts, and using that, Leila is not failing to thrive. She gave permission to continue not tube-feeding. Leila was 13 lb 3
Saturday Allen and I ran the Ten for Texas (a 10 mile race). The Parkers were nice to watch our kids for us!
