Monday we had Mommy and Me Spanish class, got to Skype with Jenni and Lizzi, and took dinner to a friend. It was Allen's turn for breakfast club, so he took in the cinnamon rolls we made over the weekend. If you're looking for a delicious recipe (and I don't even like cinnamon rolls), you should try
Lauren's Latest Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls. Apparently she has a new, faster version but I haven't tried making those yet.

| Last week I accidentally posted the frustrated picture of him trying to put his socks on by himself. He chose his clothes by himself today and successfully got his socks on by himself. |

| Reading with Daddy before bed. |
 |
| Caleb took over the reading chair |
 |
| When going to brush teeth we started quoting Dr. Seuss (a frequent occurrence in our home), "brush, brush, comb, comb, all girls who like to brush and comb should have a pet like this at home." So Caleb decided to brush and comb at the same time. |
Tuesday we got blackout lining for me to make Caleb’s curtains for his new room, dropped off another load to Goodwill, stopped at Costco for a few things and while the kids napped, I worked on the curtains. We also got our tax refund! Yay!
 |
| I have a cute video of this - Leila pretending to feed Caleb and pulling it away from him. They get along really well! |
Wednesday the Cheneys came over to play. Caleb loved it! He loves playing with his friends. During Leila’s morning nap Caleb and I played Go Fish, Hi Ho Cherry-O and Monsters Inc Life. He’s learning how to play them more correctly!
 |
| He has to have his stems pointing down in the holes when we play Hi Ho Cherry-O |
In the afternoon Caleb was acting up a lot and even though he hasn’t had to sit in time out for a few months, he ended up having to be there for a while. When he was finished, Leila was insistent that she got to sit in time out, so I let her.

Caleb has started to make everything into a race/competition, which is a good tool for getting him motivated to move quickly. I’ll say something like, “Let’s see if you can go potty and get your PJs on before Dad gets home!” His usual response, “Yeah! Let’s beat Daddy!”
So while Skyping with my mom I mentioned that his curtains were almost done and he was going to move into his new room soon. He told her that he would move in when the new baby came. I told him he got to move in before the new baby gets here and his response, “Yeah! Let’s beat the baby!” Throughout the rest of the day, he would tell people that we were going to beat the baby . . . I didn't even bother with an explanation most of the time.
I was up from 1-3 am passing kidney stones Thursday morning and Allen got up to work at 4. With the desk in our room and with me not having slept well the night before, I moved to the couch to sleep, only to have Leila start crying at 4:30 and Caleb wake up at 5:15. The rest of Thursday we just played at home. I turned on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and climbed in my bed for a 45 minute nap. Leila wasn’t eating, which means she must feeling sick. While she napped, Caleb helped me sew his curtains. In the afternoon we bundled up to go play outside but it was cold and we only lasted about 5 minutes. The missionaries came for dinner that night.
Friday morning Leila was definitely feeling sick.

After downing her oatmeal like a starving child (after not eating at all on Thursday), she sat lethargically in her high chair while I cleaned things up.

We went up to the train room and she just laid on me and watched Caleb play.

She started fussing a little and as I was carrying her down the stairs, she vomited a lot. I caught most of it on me instead of on our carpeted stairs until we made it to the entryway and I let her finish up on the tile.

| We watched Tangled (or attempted to with Caleb shouting, "Skip the scary part!" every few minutes). |

| And played Life |
By the afternoon, the poor girl wanted to eat and drink but kept having it come back up. On the plus side, she was way more cuddly than she ever usually is! Needless to say, we stayed home almost all day. Allen had worked so much during the week that he was able to come home a little early after a meeting. Leila hadn't thrown up for a couple of hours so we all went to the park that evening. She did throw up as soon as we walked back inside our house though.

| Heading to the park |
Saturday Allen went for a run and then we all went to the park. Leila has been whistling while she plays since the beginning of December but this week when Allen heard her, he thought there were birds in/on our chimney. We had a good laugh over it once I realized he wasn't joking about the birds and once he realized it was Leila.

| Aahh... sunshine on my pregnant body |
 |
| She wanted to go in the big swing to be like Caleb. |

Sunday Allen got to be Scripture Man again. He was asked by the Primary presidency to come in once a month as a super hero with magic powers that come from memorizing scriptures.
 |
| For once I didn't forget to get a picture of her all dressed up in her cute dress on Sunday. |
 |
| I bet you wish your husband was as cool as mine. |
After church I sat in the warm sunshine and talked to my mom while everyone napped. Then we barbecued in the beautiful weather. Leila's ears have been bugging her; she's been grabbing them and telling me they hurt. Then Sunday evening she bent over, stood up and just started sobbing in pain. "Ear hurt Mommy!"

Last week when the speech therapist came, we played with dolls on a slide and had them go "up, up, up and down." While Leila was playing on her own this week, she was having Minnie Mouse go "up, up, up and down." I'm always surprised at what she remembers and imitates.
Recently, Caleb has been imitating Leila. He thinks it's hilarious to follow her around and they both laugh hysterically (usually as they destroy the house!). She loves to grab the dish towels from the oven door and put them over her head or around her neck like a scarf or in her mouth and run around with them. Then she'll bang on the coffee table, play in the fireplace, push buttons on the Blu-Ray player and receiver, dump toys out, lick all of the clean silverware in the dishwasher etc. The more Caleb follows her and laughs, the more she does and the harder they both laugh. Other than it turning into destructo-mode, it is cute to watch. One other, completely unrelated thing I've noticed, is that Leila points to things with her thumb instead of her fingers.
 |
| I created a dress up box and Caleb found the wig tonight. |
 |
| He was trying to comb it to make it go longer like Rapunzel's hair. |
Caleb has been trying to use big words recently and usually uses them correctly. He listens carefully to movies and books and remembers words they use. Out of nowhere he'll come up and ask me what inferno means or explain to me what a hoist is. "Mom, there was a monster so I fled."
Other times, he sounds like a three year-old when he uses new words. There was a little spider in his bath one night and while I was getting Leila's jammies on, he said, "Mom! A spider came in the bath so I had to died it!" I can't think of a good example but he misused the word "between" a lot.
 |
| I had to get a picture of Caleb's room because next week he's moving to his new room and Leila's moving in! |
