January 7-13, 2013

January 7-13, 2013
Caleb got sick the last little while we were in Utah so Sunday Allen and Caleb stayed home together. Monday I had my doctor's appointment . . . everything is still looking good! Tuesday Caleb was still pretty sick and was very clingy. He wanted to be carried everywhere but he was also more cuddly.

It was rainy all week when we got back to Houston so we had to come up with some fun things to do inside.
My little helper likes to try to help me unload the dishwasher; everything just gets thrown on the floor though. He is pretty helpful with laundry. He will push the basket to the laundry room and load stuff into the washer and help switch it over to the dryer too!

The vacuum's a little heavy for him but he wanted to try to do it by himself.
This is his present from Aunt Amy and Uncle Blake. He loves it!
I don't have a picture of it, but he loves to throw the balls and pillows backwards over his head.
After our roadtrip back to Texas, Caleb has started crying any time we try to put him in his carseat but he loves to "drive" the car.

New Years and the drive home

December 31 2012-January 6, 2013

New Years' Eve Allen and I thought we'd celebrate our anniversary by going out to Texas Roadhouse. It turns out that everyone wanted to celebrate with us . . . the wait was over two hours at both of them nearby and as we drove around it looked like everywhere had long lines. So, we went home to eat chicken noodle soup with the family and play games. Telestrations was probably my favorite new game.

Caleb loved the little four-wheeler my parents had. He'll really love it next time we visit, when he can ride it better.
On New Years' Day Brynn came and took some family pictures, these are the only ones I took with my camera.
I forgot, when we were at the Adams' I got 7-8 inches chopped off of my hair.

Dancing with Grandpa
This was a couple of days before we left that I realized I had hardly taken any pictures so I started trying to take some. I didn't get any with Grandma and Grandpa Adams! We went down on Jan 2 and spent the day with them.

We left to go back to Texas early in the morning Friday, Jan 4th. The trip back was harder than on the way there. Caleb was sick and Allen and I had to start switching off driving every hour or two once we got to the night-time. Forty-five minutes from our house I had to get off at a rest stop to have Allen drive because I could not make it the rest of the way. I think I only had to pee behind one building on the way home . . . those small towns we drove through for the majority of our drive don't have any available bathrooms in the middle of the night.

Christmas

December 24-30, 2012
Monday was Christmas Eve. We opened PJs early in the afternoon because we had a lot of people coming over to do the Nativity with us at 4 pm and Allen and I were putting Caleb to sleep before we left for Christmas Eve dinner with the Adams and Wilkins families.
Caleb's favorite ornaments were the bells. He walked around shaking them. I like Lizzi in the background of this picture too.
Nice face Caleb.

Squeeze!
Everyone loved this toy when Caleb and I got up at 4 am.
My heroes!
Batman, Robin and Catwoman on Christmas morning
Caleb didn't ever really get the hang of opening presents but he sure liked playing with his toys and reading his books.
White Christmas!

Brynn, Tae and Steph came up to the house to play with us Christmas afternoon.

I was making a snow angel when Allen pelted the tree above me with a snowball and covered me in snow.

We celebrated Christmas at the Adams' house on December 26th and stayed there for three days. We mostly just hung out, ate good food and relaxed.
Allen showing the kids how the metronome works as they play the organ.
Caleb still didn't get excited about opening presents but he liked watching his cousins.
He tipped the chair over and Allen just laughed and took pictures before helping him up.
Cool Cars backpack!
The harpsichord was just Caleb's size and he loved playing it.
Caleb loved playing with his cousins, he didn't even mind Austin trying to carry him around or Cameron tackling him.
Playing nintendo with Uncle Sam

The Angry Birds game was a hit!
Saturday morning we went to the Salt Lake Temple with my parents and Jenni, then in the afternoon some of my friends came over with their families.
We're all so grown-up (or at least we should be) with or own families and everything!
I didn't know about Meghan and Bethany, but all three of us are pregnant!
Caleb LOVES egg nog.
Grandpa put a little too much in his cup when he had seconds and Caleb had it coming out of his nose and all over him.

Sunday afternoon or morning... not sure.
Sunday was our 3rd anniversary. We celebrated by going to church, Jenni and my dad both spoke and Allen sang with my dad and brothers.
