Leila's first week at home was rough. She was still having problems with reflux, slept best in the swing so we used that or she slept in the bouncer in my mom's room.

| Whew! Now that we're out of the hospital and home, I've got my planner out to see what we missed, what we need to do and what's coming up. I don't think I'll ever completely change to an electronic calendar. |
The most miserable thing that happened this week was kidney stones. I was outside with everyone else, holding Leila while Caleb pushed his cozy coupe up and down the street. We started talking to our neighbors and all of the sudden there was this sharp pain. I thought it was a post-partum contraction but it didn't stop and I couldn't stand up straight. Eventually I walked inside and sat on the stairs (still holding Leila) and just pushed on the spot with my hand, willing it to go away. It didn't. Eventually the pain subsided and everyone else came back inside.
The next day I was hit with one particularly long, agonizing hour+ of pain. It felt like a contraction with referred pain along my flank/back. I was almost positive it was kidney stones and just wanted to wait for them to pass. Unlike a contraction there was no break to breathe. After over an hour of being balled up on my bed, Allen called my OB's office to ask what to do. They said just as a precaution I should go to the ER, so we went and I passed my stones before we saw a doctor. I had no more pain (other than postpartum stuff) but we still had to wait for the doctor to come and do his thing. In case you're wondering, passing a kidney stone is NOT like giving birth. The pain is similar to the pain of contractions but kidney stones are considerably smaller than a baby and does not require pushing to eliminate.
We bought a cozy coupe for Caleb as a kind of peace offering, I guess. Here's a fun toy to play with since now you'll have to share our attention with your sister . . .

| He couldn't wait! |
| He knows where the steering wheel goes. |
Intense driving face.
| We got bored waiting and read a book. |
Allen and I went out to Pappadeaux for dinner. It was delicious! Thanks for babysitting Grammy.
| Caleb doesn't ride in it, he just pushes it. |
| He loves watching the wheels as he pushes it. |
| Gotta fill 'er up! This was completely unprompted. I didn't know he had any idea what filling the car up with gas was! He just ran and grabbed the hose nozzle from the garage. |
| And washing more dishes. |
