Week 13 (January 2nd-8th, 2012)

Caleb chews on his fists and sometimes extends his fingers while his fists are in his mouth and gags himself.
He will actually chew on anything he can get in his mouth . . . his hand, his arm, Mom's hand, Dad's hand, toys . . . but he can't figure out how to get the pacifier in there on his own yet

We have a rubber ducky we sit in the bathtub with him. He watches the rubber ducky float around and when the moment is right, he attacks! He kicks the duck as hard as he can with both feet and only stops when he has it trapped up against the side of the bath.

He got a swing for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa and he loves it.

When I put him in his car seat on the kitchen floor, he kicks his legs so hard that he rocks back and forth.

His favorite position is to hold a constant crunch (amazing abs).

He finally started to grab for toys with his hands instead of just kicking them.

He doesn't sleep on walks/jogs, instead he stares at all of the trees as they go by (sometimes faster than others).

He yell/talks on his whole breath out and only stops to breathe in.

He has moved up to size 2 diapers. He didn't outgrow size one really . . . we still had to cinch the diaper strap things so that they overlapped, he just started filling up the size 1 diapers too quickly, leading to too many explosions. (Thanks to the generosity of many friends, we have plenty of size 1 diapers to hold onto for baby number two.)

We've had gorgeous weather and bought new tools (lawnmower, rake, gloves, shovel) so we have been out doing yard work and have actually met some neighbors!

Exercising feels much more normal than it has since I got pregnant! I've exercised every day this week and it feels great. Allen pushed the stroller on our jog on Friday evening and I ran two sub-11 minute miles without stopping and it felt great! I never thought that it would excite me to be able to run two consecutive miles, unless they were both under 6 minutes. . . oh, motherhood, you have taught me to appreciate so much already!

This week we started having more of a nap and bedtime schedule to try to prevent Caleb from being overtired and hopefully sleep better.
