More sickness!

November 26-December 2, 2012
This week began just like last week ended . . . with sickness. Allen stayed home on Monday to help Caleb and I. I still went to my OB appointment and on top of the nausea from being sick, I had to do the glucose test. Yuck.
While sick, the thing that made Caleb happiest was to sit and watch Tangled over and over and over again. I think on Wednesday by 10 am we had already watched it three times.
Tuesday Caleb sent his first text to Dad from my phone, it was an accidental blank text but still a first. I called the pediatrician to ask about Caleb since he hadn't been able to keep down his antibiotic for his ear infections and hadn't eaten almost anything and only had a little to drink. He was still having diarrhea and vomiting, in addition to a stuffy/runny nose and cough but not a high fever. The nurse said the virus that was going around included all of those things and that he should start feeling better soon.

On Wednesday I thought Caleb was better (I was) but while we were out on a walk he threw up again. Poor kid! As his stomach issues improved, his cough got worse and coughing made him throw up. So to avoid coughing Caleb started doing this deep growl in his throat that sounded like an old man. I thought it was cute. Allen called from work to say he was starting to not feel well and I really hoped he was not coming down with this virus; it's the most sick I've been since swine flu or SARs. I made chicken noodle soup and it must have done the trick because he didn't get sick. :)
Caleb spent most of the week in pajamas and watching Tangled, which is probably why he wanted to start playing with our frying pans.

Thursday morning Caleb woke up screaming at 3 am with a fever of 102. When Allen's friend BJ came to pick him for their carpool, he came in and helped Allen give Caleb a blessing. His fever dropped over the next several of hours and by Friday he seemed to be doing much better. I thought we were over the sicknesses of the past three weeks.

Saturday morning Caleb had a little bit of a rash but I didn't think too much of it. I was busy during the day with a Stake Primary training and then a baptism (I had some issues in filling the font and ended up in the font with my skirt hiked above my belly trying to get the drain to cooperate... it was a little frustrating). So I didn't see Caleb much during the day and by the time we gave him his bedtime bath his whole body was covered in a red rash.

Allen stayed home with Caleb on Sunday since we didn't think it was wise to take him to church because of his rash. He was acting happy and seemed the healthiest he had been in over two weeks. In fact, when I came home from church, they were outside running up and down the street. That is the first time he'd done that since Thanksgiving, a week and a half before!

On my way to church I forgot that Caleb had been playing with the car keys and until I went over the railroad tracks I didn't realize he had popped the trunk. It made me laugh as I pulled over to close the trunk.
